As the year winds down, I’ve been reflecting on everything I’ve learned and accomplished. It’s been an exciting year, full of new ideas, opportunities, and some unexpected lessons. Now, with the new year just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about my next steps. I’ve spent a lot of time exploring different possibilities, and I think I’m finally ready to make some decisions about what comes next.
Consulting Seems Like the Right Next Step
Over my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible people and companies. From startups to established businesses, I’ve gained a wealth of experience in B2B distribution, Ecommerce, technology management, and operations leadership.
After reflecting on all of this, it feels like the right time to take everything I’ve learned and put it to use in a broader context. I’ve always enjoyed working in startup environments, where creativity and fast thinking are key. So, I’m seriously considering doing full-time consulting for startups. Consulting seems like the perfect next step for me—it allows me to use my skills to help companies grow while giving me the freedom to work on exciting projects that I’m passionate about.
Services I’m Looking at Providing
All of my experience has provided me with a lot of knowledge to share. I’ve picked up a wide range of skills over the years. I think my knowledge and skill would be extremely valuable for new organizations entering the market. Though I’ve done many different things in my career, I think my strongest contributions could be in the stuff I’ve been doing the most over the past ten years.
That’s why I’m thinking of narrowing my consulting focus to a few key areas that I’m really passionate about. Specifically, offering consulting in ecommerce, product management, and digital marketing for startups. These areas are not only where I’ve built a lot of expertise, but they’re also the ones that I believe can make the biggest difference for growing businesses.
Another area I’m interested in exploring is helping companies that create physical products get their goods into distribution and retail. There are so many new products out there, and navigating the retail space can be tricky. If I can help new product companies get their products into stores, that could be a game changer for them.
Decision-Making Process
As I approach the end of the year, I still have some time to think before making any final decisions. Right now, my plans aren’t set in stone. I’m not diving in headfirst just yet, but I do feel like I’m ready to take a step in this direction. It doesn’t feel like a huge risk for me because I’ve already done the work, learned the lessons, and gained the experience that can help others.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be reflecting on this new path. I want to make sure it’s the right fit for me, both personally and professionally. But I’m excited about the possibilities, and I’m ready to take the plunge if it feels right.
