Man holding a torch to a large key hole representing the importance of getting started with whatever resources you have

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” - Theodore Roosevelt

Just start. Take what you have and begin. It’s hard to imagine anyone not wishing they had more resources. A willingness to move forward and begin with what they have available is one of the key traits of those who accomplish their goals over those who don’t.

Wishing for more resources won’t make them magically appear. If you insist on waiting for circumstances to be ideal to start, you never will. Circumstances will never be perfect to start something meaningful. Sometimes you can catch a lucky break, but waiting for that break can leave you waiting forever. In the meantime, your competitors will move forward in the spaces you lack the courage to. They will advance while you stagnate. They will dominate opportunities while your opportunities diminish. The universe doesn’t care about excuses, it cares about action. In those areas that you’re unwilling to struggle for, the universe will grant your rewards to those who are willing.

Whatever it is that you desire to build or create, don’t wait. Even if you only do one thing a day in the service of your ambitions, you’re building positive forward momentum. In just thirty days you can make more progress than you thought imaginable. Procrastination is a thief that steals your most valuable resource – time. Make the decision today to not let it still any more from you.
