What I Focus On
What I focus on shapes who I am. I focus on the things that I can control, the things that help me grow and become more than I am today. I focus on developing my skills and gaining wisdom to use those skills in the best way possible. I also spend time exploring deeper questions about myself and the world around me. My focus is on becoming the person I want to be, step by step.
Why I Focus So Intensely
The reason I focus so intensely is clear. There’s a quote by Seneca that says, “If a man doesn’t know to which port he’s sailing to, no wind is favorable.” This reminds me that without clear direction, I will never get anywhere. Life is full of distractions. Everywhere I turn, there’s something vying for my attention—whether it’s entertainment, social media, or anything else. Without focus, I would never make progress on the things that truly matter. There’s always something pulling me toward distractions—“bread and circuses”—that can make me forget about what really counts. If I don’t have a strong sense of purpose, I could easily waste time on things that don’t help me grow.
My Focus Going Forward
I’ve learned from experience. I’ve seen what it’s like to live both with focus and without it. And I choose a life of discipline. The so-called “freedom” of living without purpose or direction isn’t really freedom at all—it’s a life of emptiness. As a man, I have specific responsibilities to fulfill and a deeper meaning to discover. I’m here to do the work I was meant to do. Staying focused on growth and building myself is the only way forward for me. My focus is my compass, guiding me toward my true purpose. With every step, I know I’m getting closer to becoming the man I’m meant to be.
