Comfort is Dangerous

Most people strive to find comfort in their lives. I’ve come to fear it because I’ve seen how dangerous it can be. Comfort saps your will for improvement. It sedates the hunger for greater success and accomplishment. When you’re not looking, comfort can rob you of the drive to become the best version of yourself. It’s insidious in its ability to convince you that contentment and mediocrity are acceptable states of being. It works to convince you that good enough is actually good enough.
I strive to enjoy the benefits of comfort sparingly. Just enough to find a bit of pleasure in my accomplishments. Then I get back to work. I get back in the game. Time is short, and the clock is always ticking. Comfort is dangerous because it can become a prison of your own creation that you never saw coming.
